YOUNG LAWYERS
The YLD, by definition, includes any member of the TCBA who was
first admitted to the practice of law 10 years ago or less. The
YLD is a great way to meet people and become involved, and we hope to see
you at many YLD events in the upcoming year.
The YLD is governed by an
Executive Committee. The YLD has many
opportunities to become involved throughout the year, which have included a Mardi Gras party in the spring, a
fall bowling league, lawyers’ league softball in the summer, happy hours
throughout the year, and courthouse tours for new attorneys. Continue to
watch the YLD column in the Tulsa Lawyer for information on these
activities.

Annual Mardi Gras Party! The TCBA/YLD
is once again holding the Annual Mardi Gras Party, which has been a smashing
success in years past and has provided an opportunity for interaction
between the members of the Tulsa legal community over fine food and drinks,
great music, and a lively atmosphere.

Community Service Activities. The TCBA/YLD will
be holding various community service activities in the upcoming months, with
details forthcoming. We also will continue our practice of donating a
certain portion of our end of the fiscal year budget to a local charity
group.
Ø
Bowling League. The TCBA/YLD will once again
organize the bowling league, which saw wonderful participation by the local
legal community last year. We plan on resuming the league around the
beginning of 2010.
Ø
Happy Hours. We will continue our Happy Hours,
which have proven to be very successful and have seen increased levels of
participation. They provide a great opportunity to connect with friends and
make new acquaintances. Please keep your eyes open for emails from Tim
Rogers for the next Happy Hour date, time, and place.

A “young lawyer” is any lawyer practicing ten years or less,
though we will not be checking bar rolls to confirm. Please mark your
calendars and help spread the word! These have historically been excellent
opportunities to network, build camaraderie in our local ranks, and, of
