TIME: Doors at 7:00 PM, Show 7:15 – 10:30 PM
COST: $8 person ($18 regular)
LOCATION: Tulsa Spotlight Theatre, 1381 Riverside Drive, Tulsa, OK
“It began on Nov. 14, 1953 and has never stopped! That’s how The Drunkard became America’s longest-running play. More than 3,000 Tulsans have participated on or offstage. More than a quarter-million have seen the show, making it a laughter-filled Tulsa tradition in which temperance triumphs and evildoers receive their merited fates. There are even tomatoes to throw at the villain!
The director is Tony-nominated writer-actor Joe Sears of Greater Tuna fame! “Today the play is performed in historical form as it was in the early days but with added salt and pepper fun for modern audiences to enjoy,” Mr. Sears says.
Doors open at 7 p.m. A singalong of old-time popular songs begins at 7:15. The show starts at 7:30 with the Olio: dancers, musicians, jugglers, magicians, or comedians. The play begins at 8 p.m. and concludes around 10 p.m. with the audience and cast singing God Bless America.
The auditorium is set up like a beer garden. Audience members are seated at private tables, which is why reservations are so important. During intermissions our serving crew will bring your order of made-to-order sandwiches, chips, beer, wine, coffee, and soft drinks.” – Tulsa Spotlight Theatre

EAT FOR A CAUSE NIGHT: BENEFITING LAWYERS FIGHTING HUNGER
Continuing the Tulsa County Bar Foundation Community Outreach Committee’s 2016 Eat Out for a Cause campaign, the TCBF-COC has organized a night out at the BLUE ROSE CAFÉ (1924 South Riverside) on WEDNESDAY, MARCH 16th. That’s right! From 4:00 p.m. to close, 20% of all food sales will go toward funding for 750 Easter dinners to be given away by Lawyers Fighting Hunger and Live Local, Give Local. What’s more, the Community Outreach Committee will MATCH the Blue Rose’s donation (up to $1000) – so really it’s as if 40% of all food sales that evening will go to charity!
So do yourself a favor, and come on out for a little St. Practice Day meal at the Blue Rose on March 16th, lay a good foundation in food for the days to come, and help feed families in need in our community as well. If you can’t stay to dine-in, call in a couple orders of their incredible chicken strips with gravy and take ‘em home! http://www.bluerosecafetulsa.com/
Hope to see you all there.

EASTER DISTRIBUTION SET WITH GOAL TO FEED 750 TULSA FAMILIES
Tulsa, OK – Oklahoma ranks fourth in food hardship and for many Oklahomans this Spring is another day of worry. Lawyers Fighting Hunger is doing their part to spread the Spring cheer. Live Local Give Local is raising funds with a goal to distribute 750 hams and food bags to families and individuals in need in the Tulsa area.
The event will take place on Saturday March 26th to 750 pre-screened families from 11:30 AM until 12:30 PM. This will mark the fourth year in a row Live Local, Give Local will again distribute food in the Spring. In November, Live Local, Give Local distributed 750 turkeys and food bags.
A combined effort between the Community Food Bank of Eastern Oklahoma, Emergency Infant Services, Iron Gate and Lawyers Fighting Hunger, Live Local, Give Local empowers donors to support local organizations providing help and hope in the fight against hunger in the Tulsa area.
“Iron Gate is a basic needs agency with the single mission of feeding people,” said Connie Cronley, executive director. “Partnering with Live Local, Give Local to distribute turkeys and food boxes allows us the opportunity to be of greater service to our guests, and provides the opportunity for them to prepare a home-cooked meal for Thanksgiving.”
Emergency Infant Services will provide diapers to families with children. “Emergency Infant Services is excited to be a partner in the Live Local, Give Local collaboration,” said Tom Taylor, executive director. “EIS will have our van on site and will be giving diapers to those families in addition to our partners giving hams and food bags.”
Tulsa area attorneys and law firms through Lawyers Fighting Hunger primarily fund the event through donations. The Tulsa County Bar Foundation and the Oklahoma Association for Justice has also been a continued supporter of the annual event. There are many other groups who help make the annual distribution possible, not just attorneys. There are several area churches who have committed to doing food drives, contributed financially, and have committed to providing volunteers. Arnie’s Bar will again be providing hotdogs and hamburgers along with soda, bottled water, and the music. Iron Gate will again help screen the 750 families by partnering with other agencies such as disabled vet groups, Women in Recovery, Lindsay House, Mental Health Association in Tulsa housing, A Way Home for Tulsa, Emergency Infant Services, Youth Services, and many more.
Since the inception of the program, over 20,000 families have received a Thanksgiving or Easter meal as part of the Lawyers Fighting Hunger program statewide. “We are able to do the volume we are in large part due to the Food Bank of Eastern Oklahoma’s partnership with our organization. The Food Bank helps secure the lowest possible prices combined with their purchase power and negotiation skills which allows us to feed more families each year” Robert said.
“This will be our largest event to date and plan on again having face painting, balloon artists, arts and crafts and much more for the entire family,” said Rachel Gusman, co-chair of the Tulsa event. The need in Tulsa continues to increase and with the cuts to the SNAP program, many of the working poor are finding it harder to provide the necessities, let alone a turkey and all the things that go with a Thanksgiving meal. This is even truer this year with the cost of turkey skyrocketing across North America.
Live Local, Give Local hopes to continue expanding the amount of families served and the number of times we are able to do this in the community but we can only do so with everyone’s support. We are still accepting tax-deductible donations either online or by check. You can donate online by going to www.lawyersfightinghunger.org/donate or by mailing a check payable to Live Local, Give Local to 15 W. 6th St., Ste. 2112, Tulsa OK 74119 If your business is interested in sponsoring, we have sponsorships available at various levels and some sponsorship levels will be included on our t-shirt, promotional materials, website, facebook pages, and press releases. For more information on sponsorships, please contact Hugh Robert at firstname.lastname@example.org or at 918-592-1144.
We appreciate the support of attorneys and organizations to our mission of feeding the hungry.
